VANCOUVER, BC: riiPlay.tv announced today the launch of a turn-key Web Service for event organizers that makes business event web-casting and monetization a snap. Events can easily deliver video replays on a branded landing page, have riiplay ticket fees collected and create a long tail for their content. The riiPlay.tv platform is in Alpha - invitation only - but will launch with the first high quality events in early March.

Events can drive revenues and reduce hassles with 3 innovative riiPlay.tv services :

  1. Web Services - replace or add to in-house publishing, streaming and eCommerce.
  2. Content Services - deliver high quality capture, creative and promotional value.
  3. Distribution Services - engage new on-site riiPlay ticket crews and more "eyeballs." Public riiPlays can now be shared on targeted social media, video and publishing sites via the riiPlay.tv network or via private member channels or embed code on their own site/blog.

Riiplay.tv - Events replayed The riiPlay.tv team also unveiled a new logo and website look and feel . The fresh look previews a great user experience to come, including on iPhones, ensuring our promise of Knowledge, Anytime, Anywhere!

"Our mantra is better knowledge sharing. Our team is tasked to develop solutions that dramatically enhance value for event holders, audiences, speakers and sponsors," stated Replay Evangelist (and CEO), Bret Conkin. He added, "Quality replays can be profitable and inexpensive for event holders without reducing attendance or networking benefits."

The riiPlay.tv model is customer-centric . Attendees can conveniently access, manage, discover and share their riiPlays - relevant speakers and events - in one place. The traditional approach was to either restrict access to live attendance, make the viewer access it only on the event website or provide DVDs or materials that easily get lost. Content providers still control final delivery but now have valuable new audiences and options.

I caught up with Earl Hong Tai, Western Regional Director of Telefim Canada recently at the Fusion Venture Forum. In our interview he discusses the current opportunities to monetize the converging media world; compares film funding to that for new media ventures; and reveals trends in cross platforms projects. Earl suggested we explore three companies presenting at Fusion that Telefilm thinks are going in the right direction: HotRocket, Zeros2Heros (watch for an upcoming interview with Chairman, Paul Gertz), and Something Simpler - check out our exlusive interview with CEO Ian Bell.
